Meet Amy And Riley
Amy Collins
A Life in Art and Creativity
Amy Collins grew up in a small rural town in Pennsylvania, where she spent much of her childhood exploring the woods and pond near her home. Today, her family owns a summer home by a small lake, where her three children enjoyed the same outdoor adventures she once had. Witnessing the beauty of nature through her children’s eyes inspired her to write The Wise Old Fish. Along with her son Riley, who was five at the time, they created illustrations that capture the playful, simplistic style of a child’s art.
It was at Kutztown that Amy met her future husband, who introduced her to pottery, a craft she immediately fell in love with. After graduating, she worked in the graphic arts industry for several years, designing logos, billboards, and marketing materials. Though she enjoyed her work, she continued to explore other artistic mediums in her free time.
Three years after graduation, Amy married her college sweetheart, and together they settled in an old farmhouse just outside Philadelphia. While raising their three children, she discovered yet another artistic passion—photography. She purchased her first professional camera to document her children’s lives, and soon, her natural eye for composition and lighting led her to turn photography into a profession. Specializing in family portraits, she built a successful photography business, capturing cherished moments for countless families.
Amy Collins’ journey is a testament to the way creativity can evolve and flourish in different forms. Whether through graphic design, drawing, painting, pottery, or photography, her passion for visual storytelling remains at the heart of everything she does.
Riley Collins
Adventurer • Creator • Fearless Innovator
A Born Daredevil
Riley Collins grew up in a small Pennsylvania town — the oldest of three and a thrill-seeker from the very start. His parents affectionately called him “X-Baby”, a nickname he earned for his love of extremes.
“He doesn’t just live life — he launches into it.”
At just seven months old, Riley was soaring high in a tire swing tied to a backyard maple tree, squealing with pure joy. By three and a half, he had ditched his training wheels and was speeding down the street on two wheels, fearless and free.
The Spark of Adventure
In fourth grade, Riley convinced his teacher to start a snowboarding club — and the slopes quickly became his second home. While most kids were signed up for Scouts by their parents, Riley made the choice himself in ninth grade, determined to carve his own path. Throughout middle and high school, baseball was his sport of choice.
From Challenge to Craft
After high school, Riley attended Penn College of Technology, where he earned three degrees — proof of his relentless curiosity and drive. Today, he works as a model maker and designer at a medical device company, creating orthopedic implants and tools that help others heal and move again.
Always in Motion
When he’s not innovating in the lab, Riley is outside chasing adventure: snowboarding in the winter, riding his motorcycle, golfing, or exploring the outdoors throughout the summer.
Riley Collins has always lived on the edge of possibility — and whether on a mountain slope or in a design studio, his fearless energy keeps him reaching for the next great leap!
